Cover of GBW Lines

KGB&W 49 and GBW 69 (later renumbered 350 and 351) were the last 2-8-0s the GBW purchased, and the last in service. Both would find new careers after steam ended on the GBW, and the 49 is the last surviving GBW steamer. Sometimes overshadowed by the six Mikados that followed, the last Consolidations have an interesting story of their own.

The familiar yellow 40-foot PS-1 boxcars were a fixture on the GBW for decades, and a “must have” for anybody who models the GBW’s diesel years. In the latest issue of GBW Lines, Mark Mathu chronicles the history and variations of the prototype fleet, and discusses the models available in HO, N, O and G scale.
