You may vote for no more than two of these candidates for three-year terms:
John Fuja:
I grew up in the far western suburbs of Chicago. My first exposure to the GB&W was in the 1970’s when my parents took us on a vacation to Door County. As we passed through Kewaunee, a GB&W RS-20 was switching the boat train. I’d never seen a locomotive like that before, and it caught my eye.
I really didn’t develop an interest in the GB&W until nearly 40 years later when I came across a copy of Stan Mailer’s book while researching Door County railroads at the Sturgeon Bay public library. I was hooked.
A few years later, I joined the GB&W Historical Society and began attending the annual summer picnics in Plover. I had the chance to meet many of the former railroad men who had worked on the line. Listening to their stories helped me to realize what a special railroad the GB&W was. I would like to help preserve the history of this unique railroad for current and future generations to enjoy.
Andy Laurent: Andy Laurent has had a life-long interest in the Green Bay & Western lines since his father introduced him to the railroad during walks along the A&W main line near Casco. He has amassed a significant amount of information on the A&W in over 25 years of research. He has contributed to the GBWHS since its inception as a board member and volunteer, including as presenter at the annual banquet in 2016. He looks forward to serving with both current and future board members on strengthening the society and advancing its goal of preserving and honoring the railroads and its employees. Andy works in the transportation industry in sales and business development, and lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
Write-in Candidates
